This project was sent to me from Grant Merriman of Northern Indiana. Grant writes: “Attached are the pictures of my jet engine as it is right now. Currently I am running it on a 20 pound propane tank and using a furnace ignition transformer for spark. I used a stainless steel float ball for an oil tank, works real well and holds 1.1 gallons. I offset my exhaust nozzle up to hopefully supply a little increase in down force when I get the engine mounted to the go cart frame. Idles at about 18,000 RPM. Max Rpm I have run it thus far is 50,000 but I don’t see any problems getting to 60,000 which is where I would like to operate it. Looking down the combustor you can see the evaporation tube that will be used when I start running on kerosene. Currently I run 45 PSI of air through it to keep it cool while I run the engine on propane. Future plans will include an after burner. Thanks for all your help thus far. Grant S. Merriman.....”
Thanks for the pictures of your awesome engine Grant!!!....... Don G.
